Busy road closed due to collision at traffic lights

A busy road connecting North Staffordshire and South Cheshire has been closed because of a collision.

Cheshire Police revealed the A5011, Linley Lane, in Alsager, is closed because of an accident at the recently installed traffic lights at the Linley Road junction.

The lights were installed in October on the back of a campaign from local residents who said the road had become an accident blackspot.

A police spokesman said: « Alsager 5011 – Due to a collision at the Linley Lane/Linley Road lights, there is a road closure in place, to allow Cheshire East Highways to clean in the carriageway.

« Road closure in place from the traffic lights at the A50/B5077 Crewe Road, to the traffic lights at the A34 in Talke. »
